Shamim Mohammad is the EVP and Chief Information and Technology Officer at Richmond-based CarMax, the nation’s largest retailer of used cars. Shamim joined CarMax in 2012 and is responsible for the strategic use of technology throughout the company.

CarMax is known for disrupting the automotive industry by providing customers the transparent and no-haggle experience they deserve. Shamim and his teams have been instrumental in CarMax’s digital transformation across the business, including developing world-class supply chain capabilities and leveraging machine learning and artificial intelligence to power the business.

Shamim earned his MBA from Northwestern (Kellogg) and BS in Computer Science from Angelo State. He has served in various strategic leadership roles in a range of industries both in startups and Fortune 500 companies.
