Mike Onders is the Executive Vice President and Chief Data Officer for KeyBank. He is the Divisional CIO for Finance, Human Resources, Risk, and Marketing and also leads the Enterprise Strategy and Architecture Services team for KeyBank’s Technology, Operations, and Services group. In these roles Mike is accountable for the overall enterprise Data Governance, Data Management, and Business Intelligence capabilities for the bank as well delivering and supporting the technologies and investments required for the shared business functions at Key.

Mike has over 30 years of experience in technology in a variety of industries including health care, financial services, retail, and aerospace. Prior to joining Key, Mike was the Chief Technology Officer of Explorys, a healthcare startup technology company focused on leveraging Big Data technology to store and analyze electronic health records (EHR) for the improvement of medicine. In addition, Mike has served in a variety of technology and business intelligence leadership roles at a number of Fortune 500 firms including the CIO of PNC Global Investment Servicing (GIS), Retail Bank CIO for National City Bank, CIO of OfficeMax.com, Chief Technology Officer at GE Consumer Financial Services, and consulting manager at Ernst & Young.

Mike holds a B.S. degree in Systems Analysis from Miami University and a M.S. degree in Computer Science from Ohio State University, specializing in artificial intelligence. Mike is currently on the Computer Science Advisory Board at Cleveland State University.
