Karen Hegarty serves as VP of Cognitive Computing at Novant Health where she leads a team of data scientists and engineers responsible for furthering the advancement of innovation and AI at Novant Health. In this role, she oversees enterprise-wide AI/ML initiatives and serves as a partner to key clinical and operational leaders to ensure the delivery of products that are trustworthy, human-centered, safe, and effective. She holds a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the Virginia Tech – Wake Forest University School of Biomedical Engineering and Sciences and a BSBE in Biomedical Engineering from Western New England University.
