Harvey Jang is Vice President, Deputy General Counsel, and Chief Privacy Officer responsible for Cisco’s global privacy strategy, vision, and mission – compliance, market access, and differentiation. He leads a global team of privacy professionals, lawyers, and engineers in developing and operationalizing Cisco’s privacy policies and standards, privacy by design, and accountability frameworks and certifications. Harvey and team represent Cisco with regulators, standards bodies, non-governmental organizations, media, and customers on issues related to privacy, information governance, and data ethics.
Harvey also serves on the Board of Directors for the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP); Advisory Board of the Future of Privacy Forum (FPF); Advisory Council of the Centre for Information Policy Leadership (CIPL); and as an IAPP instructor of privacy credentials (CIPP/US, CIPP/Europe, and CIP/Technologist).
Harvey earned his B.A.s in Social Psychology and Business Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles, and his J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. He is a Certified Information Privacy Professional and Fellow of Information Privacy by IAPP, and Certified Information Security Manager and Certified Data Privacy Solutions Engineer by the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA).
