Eshwar Pastapur is the Chief Information Officer (CIO) for Hastings Mutual Insurance Company (HMIC). He is responsible for developing vision, strategies, goals, operating plans, and policies to deliver on business goals and drive competitive advantages in the ever-changing insurance marketplace.

At Hastings Mutual Insurance Company, he was instrumental in turning around in-crisis business transformation initiatives which impacted all aspects of functional areas. He transformed IT to be the most innovative division by introducing many newer technologies such as RPA, telematics, IoT and by making significant strides in use of data and digital technologies. Eshwar is also a co-sponsor for diversity and inclusion initiative at HMIC.

Eshwar has more than 30 years of experience in leading many global multi-year transformational initiatives. His journey in the insurance industry started when he worked at GE Insurance Solutions (now Swiss Re) in 2001. He is a certified six sigma black belt.

Eshwar holds a master’s degree in Computer Science from India’s Motilal Nehru National Institute of technology. He currently lives in Grand Rapids, MI with his wife and two daughters.
