David Badanes is Director of Cybersecurity Program and Partnerships of the AES Corporation, a Fortune 500 multinational company with electricity generation, distribution, and storage assets across thirteen countries. In this role, he coordinates with the CISO and a global team to implement a strategy to protect and defend operational assets, securely integrate new investments and technologies into our portfolio, and elevate cyber risk as a business driver to the executives within the company. Additionally, a critical priority of his work is to improve the cyber awareness of more than 12,000 employees, contractors and partners through customized training, focused messaging, and a phishing simulation program. David joined AES from Deloitte where he led teams conducting risk-based cybersecurity consulting for federal, financial services, and energy clients. David graduated with distinction from Duke University. In his free time, he enjoys coaching his sons’ Little League teams, with occasional success.
