Anna was appointed Vice President, R&D IT in 2019, based in Gaithersburg. Her role includes optimizing scientists’ daily lives through technology, making lab spaces more digital and improving global connectivity. Anna is also committed to transforming R&D through data science, AI and digital.

Her global team is building core AI capabilities such as Deep Learning, Imaging, Natural Language Processing, Knowledge Graph and self-service tools. They also deliver technology solutions to help the Digital Health function to better plan and execute clinical trials as well as deploy digital patient solutions.

Anna began her AstraZeneca career in 2004 in Sodertalje, working with Finance and Enabling, leading the transformative outsourcing for Finance systems to Infosys. In 2010, Anna moved to a role in the US focused on Commercial IT. In 2014, Anna moved back to Sodertalje as VP for Operations IT, where she initiated the digital journey with Smart Factory, laying the groundwork for future Growth Through Innovation opportunities.

Prior to AstraZeneca, Anna held diverse roles in IT, Strategy and Management in various European countries, including launching and growing an IT consultancy company in Germany. Anna holds a Master of Science degree in Engineering from KTH, Royal Institute of Stockholm.
