As Global Head of Threat Management & Incident Response at TikTok, Andy Bonillo is responsible for ensuring TikTok can detect, respond, and recover from converged threats and incidents. His team of dedicated and diverse practitioners oversee an all-hazards threat led defense, incident response, intelligence, crisis management, and business resiliency capability focused on minimizing disruptions to business operations.

Before TikTok, Andy was appointed as the first Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) of Ciena Corporation, a telecommunications networking equipment and software services provider. He joined Ciena after serving as the Global Head of Information Security at AIG, where he built and led AIG’s Global Cyber Risk Defense Center to protect the integrity of the Financial Insurance market. Previously, Andy was the Director of Cyber Security and Public Safety for Verizon Communications, where he led the company’s next-generation incident response platform initiatives, invented, and commercialized a managed security service threat detection product, served as an advisor to the General Counsel on public policy and cyber security matters.

Before joining the private sector, Andy served as a Special Agent with the United States Secret Service where he led the largest cybercrime investigation in US history and was awarded the Distinguished Service Award from the US Attorney General. He has been recognized by the Federal Bureau of Investigation for his support in the fight against Terrorism. He has provided physical protection to the President of the United States, former Presidents, and world leaders at various threat levels. He applies his physical security mindset to IT and data security.
