Shankar Iyer is the SVP and GM of End User Computing at VMware Inc. This responsibility includes overall business strategy and performance, product management and marketing, R&D, market positioning, and customer success. Previously, Shankar ran the Desktop business as part of EUC and as the SVP and GM of Desktop products.

Prior to VMware, Shankar was the VP of Products and Engineering for Enterprise Mobility at Citrix Systems, where he was instrumental in building the XenMobile business and products from the ground up. Before Citrix, Shankar was at WebEx as VP of Products and Engineering. He was responsible for WebEx’s next generation platform and ecosystem and continued that role as part of the Cloud Application Services group at Cisco Systems.

Shankar has also held executive management roles at Tibco Software as VP of Products and at GemStone Systems as EVP of Products before its acquisition by VMware. He has an MBA from Santa Clara University, an MS from the Ohio State University, and a B.Tech. from IIT Bombay.
